Kaohsiung in southwestern Taiwan was the acclaimed host city of The World Games 2009. “The best games ever,” pronounced International World Games Association President Ron Froehlich during the spectacular closing ceremony.
During these games, DanceSport was very well received by the people of Kaohsiung, with historic sell-outs recorded for the Latin, Rock 'n' Roll and Standard competitions in the fabulous Kaohsiung Arena. Read up on the exploits of DanceSport in The World Games 2009 here.
Four years later, the Kaohsiung residents were the most gracious hosts again. This time to the inaugural edition of the WDSF World DanceSport Games held from 16 to 20 September!
In their speeches during the Closing Ceremony at the K-Arena, both Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu and WDSF President Carlos Freitag qualified the inaugural edition of the games a great success. Indeed, over five days, the WDSG 2013 demonstrated that this sport is as diverse as the music it is danced to, and that DanceSport has found a formidable ally in getting this very message out to the world ... 謝謝高雄 ... Thank you, Kaohsiung!
