Changes To The Starting List 19/11/2011

With only a few more moments to go until round one, here are the usual last-minute changes to the official Starting List. The Spanish couple Gorka Marquez - Irene Martin did not show, bringing the total number of entries down to 30. Two nations, Germany and Hungary, entered a different couple than initially announced.

Round one and the redance will serve to see the 18 best couples advance.

A permanent November fixture in the DanceSport calendar for 18 years, the Austrian Open allows athletes, officials and visitors to enjoy the particular pre-Christmas charm of Vienna.

The Austrian Open 19/11/2011

2011 Austrian Open In terms of size, the Austrian Open is third behind the GOC and the ROC. Approximately 3,000 athletes representing 50+ nations have entered this year's edition, which happens to be the 18th consecutive.

Organised jointly by the Austrian DanceSport Federation (ÖSTV) and its regional branch, the Viennese Federation, it relies wholly on a experienced group of people who, as enhusiastic volunteers, put in highly professional work to make the event happen year after year.

Here are a few photographs to make the point. Take the venue:

2011 Austrian Open Today we are reporting from the Stadthalle in Vienna, AUT, where the Austrian Open is in full swing since yesterday. WDSF Communications' Heidi Goetz leads a small team of photographers and videographers who will provide you with coverage on the Open's main event: the 2011 WDSF World Cup Latin.
