The Redance is in full swing .... Live from CEZ Arena in sunny Ostrava, CZE. And whoever says that he or she is holding out with watching until the best couples are back on the floor doesn't do justice to these athletes trying to make it into the second round.
And the last interview before the action starts on the floor. Team France! Sutu George - Brangbour Ludivine, FRA, are highly motivated ... The sound quality could be better, but the band was rehearsing for tonight!
Expected were 73 couples, even more were hoped for and in the end 67 will take the floor. Here is the official Starting List!

Alexey Silde retired from active competition in August. Two-time WDSF World Champion before turning professional, reigning Professional World Champion, Alexey made Russia the Latin powerhouse over several years. Now his mission is to train his successors and the next generation of champions. Something he is taking as seriously as he did his own career ...
Maybe Evgeniy Kuzin - Elina Popova, RUS, top most of the lists of favourites to win the 2011 World Youth that were drawn up by the experts. But then, the money was on Evgeniy and Elina last year too, in Linz, when they went into the championship as the number one contenders for the title ... and came out as the runners-up to Team Poland.
We promised you interviews with some of the favourites ... Well, here they are. We first talked to to the one couple that stands out through their huge Ten Dance potential. Second in the European Youth Standard earlier this year, they came to Ostrava to win (or at least place second) in the World Youth Latin.
As we have mentioned here earlier, Prof Dr Helmut Roland will be reporting on the Grand Slam Standard held on 1 and 2 October in St Petersburg, RUS, right here on our "Live from Ostrava" blog. We just received the first batch of his pictures and videos. We can actually document that Helmut has arrived in the city that was founded by Tsar Peter the Great, and that he's already done some serious sightseeing too.
More on how we plan to mix in Grand Slam Standard coverage on this blog thoroughout the weekend will get published ... just as soon as we wake up. Good night!
