The "Live from Antwerp" blog was widely followed. The number of visitors, the time these visitors remained on the site and many of the other parameters were comparable to those we have had for World Championship. Fact is that our blogs with reports, videos, photos and results have a loyal following, and that the audience appears to be growing still.
The number of videos viewed on our YouTube channel DanceSport Total shattered - most likely - existing records. "Most likely" we say because YouTube is having difficulties in compiling the final viewing figures. They promise to catch up by Friday. In any case, our channel has won a few honours (see right) already over the last few days.
What is still to come? Ferran Castañer, our editor, is working on THE FINAL REEL of the GrandSlam Latin, with all 30 dances performed by the finalists. Including their scores! Prof Roland has narrowed the hundreds (thousands?) of photgraphs he has taken in Antwerp down to a FINAL SELECTION. And the rest of the WDSF Communications team is already busy planning the next "Live from ..." blogs on the 2012 GrandSlam Series, European Championships, etc.
The Copenhagen leg (Latin, 18 February) has been pencilled in, still tentatively, and planning is at an advadnced stage for the Tokyo leg (Latin/Standard, 11 March).
"Live from Antwerp" will now disappear from the homepage and move to the permanent blog section. Check back there in the next days, as a few more things are still to go up! Last but not least, here are a few more photographs of the GrandSlam Latin last Saturday ...
The recently added competition category might still require a few words of explanation. The World Opens are the step up from the WDSF International Opens, with more points awarded to participating couples. From 2012, the most points are awarded in the ten competitions pertaining to the GrandSlam Series, now elevated to the highest level of WDSF ranking competitions.

THE FINAL Slow Fox of the 2012 WDSF World DanceSport Championship Senior I Standard.
During the GrandSlam and World Senior I Standard nearly everyone had a story to tell about making his or her way to Antwerp. Transalpine travel seemed particularly difficult. Italy and Belgium were farther apart with every inch of snow that fell in either country. Two stories of travel and hardship!
