The preliminary round of the 2012 WDSF DanceSport Championship Formation Standard is in progress.
Many of the 16 formations competing for the title have been able to show their choreographies to the nearly 3,000 spectators at the Ludwigsburg Arena already. It goes without saying that the one getting the most applause is the formation represententing the local club, the First DanceSport Club Ludwigsburg, with their "Amour Fatal." ... in Braunschweig, GER!
Team Germany I, Braunschweig TSC, dances its "Immortality" choreography in the final of the 2011 WDSF World DanceSport Championship Standard Formation. The extraordinary performance won them the title.
Team Russia I, Vera Tyumen, dances its choreography in the final of the 2011 WDSF World DanceSport Championship Standard Formation. The formation was the runner-up together with Jantar from Poland.
The videos that Prof Helmut Roland will start producing of the preliminary and final rounds will not be available for viewing in Germany until after the host broadcaster SWR has aired its one-hour programme of the World Formation Standard.
SWR has scheduled a first showing immediately after the championship from 23:05 to 00:05 tonight and repeats on 25 November.
SWR is available across Eurosport on the ASTRA 19.2º E satellite.
Participation in this year's World Formation Standard is slightly lower than in 2011, when 19 teams danced for the title in Braunschweig, GER. Very prominently absent: formations from Poland. ST Lotus, Jantar Elblag, POL, were the runners-up one year ago. Mongolia, on the other hand, puts in an appearance in Ludwigsburg too, this time with two formations.
