Three live webcasts of a duration of just over two hours between them drew concurrent live audiences between 2,000 and 3,500 each. The number of videos viewed on Saturday 6 April through our YouTube channel exceeded 80,000. The stats for Sunday are not yet in.
A lot of interest was taken in the 2013 European Latin coverage. Some of you may even say that it was too much. Unfortunately, the servers of worlddancesport.org couldn't cope with the heavy demand at certain times on Saturday and Sunday. But don't worry! WDSF will look into increasing capacities with a view to future blogs that will get published here. Remember: the next one on the 2013 European Standard in Aarhus, DEN, on 20 April.

On Saturday 20 April you should be able to enjoy another live stream from the NRGi Arena. It will cover the decisive stages of the championship. Videos of couples dancing in the earlier rounds will get uploaded continuously too. And as a world premiere, you are afforded a look behind the scenes of a championship through unique facebook coverage. In fact, the creative minds at Sport Aarhus Events have already started to produce such coverage by presenting some of the participants with visual "A day with ..." portraits. You can look at the first ones on the event facebook page.
"How two couples kept everyone in suspense throughout four rounds, through all five dances in the final, and until the very moment that the master of ceremony pronounced country and names of the runners-up, it all reveals just how compelling this artistic sport can be."
We wrote the above on our "Live from Vienna" blog after the World Latin in November 2012. It certainly applies to what has happened yesterday at the Basket Hall in Krasnodar too. That the outcome was different this time around makes an even stronger statement about the essence of sport and dance. And that dance can be true sport adds an important facet to it all.
The dances were split 3:2 between the two top couples in last night's final, the result was tight by every measure, but - and that's the beauty of it all - this competition is far from over. Another magic night is only weeks away. When the same couples meet again in the 2013 GrandSlam Hong Kong on 11 May!
Dr Helmut Roland interviews Aniello Langella - Khrystyna Moshenska, the runners-up at the 2013 WDSF European DanceSport Championship Latin in Krasnodar, RUS.
Dr Helmut Roland interviews Andrey Zaytsev - Anna Kuzminskaya, RUS, after their win of the 2013 European Latin in Krasnodar, RUS.
The WDSF Communications team at Krasnodar is trying to get a few interviews lined up with tonight's protagonists. For the time being, you can watch the decisive stages of this European Latin over and over in the recordings of the three live segments. But we do have a full HD version of everything that we will use to compile a "Final Reel" on this great competition.
About eight hours of outstanding DanceSport from the Basket Hall in Krasnodar come to an end. Remember: next "Live from ..." blog is on the European Standard in Aarhus on 20 April.
