The European Champs Are ... 18/05/2013

Klaipeda Zuvedra, LTU © Roland"La grande dame" of the Lithuanian Formation DanceSport, Skaiste Idzeleviciene, can finally put all her worries aside. One of her Zuvedra teams managed to take advantage of the home field advantage and won the title ahead of Vera Tiumen, RUS, and Grün-Gold-Club Bremen, GER.

To say that it was against all odds - or a surprise win for that matter - does not do much justice to what certainly is one of the longer standing traditions that the home team (almost) always wins.

If Everything Else Fails ... 18/05/2013

Semi-FinalistsHere are the 12 teams that made the second round of the 2013 European Latin Formation. Picture courtesy of Matthijs Mennes, who took it and posted it, and of Markus Sonyi, a friend on facebook who shared it.

When it comes to videos of the semi-final and final rounds, we have to ask for your continued patience. Dr Helmut Roland records the routines and transfers the large files from Vilnius to Spain, where the 6-minute clips are edited and from where they get uploaded to teh WDSF YouTube channel DanceSport Total.

When Helmut is recording, he can't be uploading - and recording has to have the priority.

Eventually, the performances of all top teams will be available here!

Round One Action 18/05/2013

Vilnius, LTU - 18 MayThe first round of the 2013 WDSF European DanceSport Championship Latin Formation is in progress at the Siemens Arena in Vilnius, LTU. Dr Helmut Roland has forwarded the first photographs taken during that round.

On the left, the German formation Grün-Gold-Club Bremen, the current World Champions, ham it up.

The first videos will come through after the round is completed. Stay tuned!
