The Judging System 2.0 as a concept has first been presented to the international DanceSport community one month ago. Prior to that, the WDSF Sports Department and the developers of hardware and software had conducted exhaustive tests by scoring and rescoring hundreds of dances from tape with the new formula.
The Judging System 2.0 calls for 4 Components to be evaluated and for 12 adjudicators, working in 4 groups of 3 adjudicators each, to grade these on an absolute scale from 1 to 10.
The system acknowledges that two Components cover technical aspects of the performance and that the other two assess the latter’s artistic qualities.
