I am finding it upsetting that the teachers and judges encourage rather than penalize some ridiculous head positions from the male dancers. The back of dmitry's head is close to parallel to the floor in some cases. in my opinion it looks very very bad.
He used to be one of my favourite up and comers to watch . Some of the sway and shapes are beautiful but more isn't the answer to make it better. It isn't a flexibility contest and i feel this head weighting idea is being overdone by many couples with the
neck bending on its own and not an extension of the spine. Every shape looks better coming from the ground up... not the waist up.
The next generation will copy this if the coaches and judges don't send a message... or maybe they like it and i am off base
