Official Welcome Dinner

2014 GrandSlam Wuhan © Roland It is a long standing tradition for major DanceSport competitions in China - and all over Asia for that matter - to hold a special dinner to welcome all those who have travelled from far with luscious food, plenty of drinks and a few speeches. Wuhan is no different in that respect. All adjudidicators, WDSF officials and the entire contingent of "foreign players" - a term that is used consistently for "athletes from abroad" and that has a Google Translate ring to it - were invited to a very rich buffet dinner last night.

Generously offered by the Chinese makers of fine dance shoes, the dinner could be summarised perfectly with "good friends, good food, short speeches."

WDSF Communications team member Helmut Roland took the tour of the tables and acted as any photographer would ... at a wedding reception.
