Allow us and the couples who did dance in Cambrils, ESP, to revel a little bit longer in the glory of a new all-time record established for the number of videos viewed over a period of four days days.
The GrandSlam Helsinki, FIN, (5 - 8 March) was spectacular in terms of viewing already, but the three European Championships in Cambrils, ESP, (March 26 - 29) were even more so: the graph on the left reflects viewing (i.e. the number of videos viewed) on the WDSF YouTube channel DanceSport Total over the past month. 823,633 videos were watched for a cumulative 3,663,837 minutes between 26 and 29 March.
Well, that is not entirely true! But we came very close to establish new benchmarks for each and every one of the areas that are measurable in terms of reach for our online coverage of the events held in Cambrils, ESP, over the past few days.
750,000 videos viewed through our YouTube channel DanceSport Total between Friday 25 and Tuesday 29 March constitutes an all-time record that exceeds previous marks by a margin of more than 25%. Incredible! And thank you very much!
Website traffic was also exceptionally high with close to 70'000 visitors over the same period. Considering that not all parts of our coverage were of an irreproachable standard of quality - photographs were definitely not of the calibre our followers have grown accustomed to - that is an impressive result as well.
We at WDSF Communications are very happy about these figures, all the more so because they were achieved in spite of deliberate efforts by some to reduce the appeal of two of the continental championships held in Cambrils. There is no doubt that the best couples danced in Cambrils and they obtained their results fair and square ... Our congratulations and thanks go to them!

The WDSF Communications team interviewed Emanuel Valeri and Tania Kehlet, DEN, the day after their win at the PD 2016 European Standard, asking them for their thoughts on a great competition ... and on a matter that stands to affect DanceSport and the PD adversely.

Speaking of the latter, we would like to congratulate the scrutiny Alex Espinal for designing and the hightv crew for inserting the ones used in the "kiss & cry" zone and for the standings! Very well done!

The transmission of the quarterfinal was slightly better than the ones yesterday - at least we dinn't have any signal break-ups - but there is still room for improvement. Remember that we upload Reels of these rounds in 1080 HD afterwards - and they will be perfect!

Other than that, let's all keep our fingress crossed that this team the signal doesn't break up. If it should, we can always produce a Reel after everything is over.
