Gabriele Goffredo and Anna Matus started the 2017 World Latin as a couple bearing the descriptive connotation "on and off the floor," i.e. as a partnership in a sporting quest as well as one that does extend to the romantic level.
They finished with the dance of honour some twelve hours later: as World Champions for a third consecutive time, as one of only three couples that achieved such feat in over 50 years of DanceSport history ... And as an engaged couple, with Gabriele having asked for Anna's hand in marriage in front of a capacity crowd at the championship venue as well as worldwide television. Don't you worry: you won't miss any of what happened during some of the most emotional moments we have been witnesses to. But it will take us some time to digest - and to edit our imagery - as we, too, were caught by surprise.
