A total of 90 couples representing 51 countries are expected to take to the floor of the Grand Ballroom at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore on 10 September. Let's all hope there are no no-shows when the first round is called.
The previous record benchmarks for participation in a WDSF World Latin were established in Maribor, SLO, on 7 November 2009: 89 couples from 46 countries! Last year's championship in New York, USA, was not as big a draw.
The official starting list for the 2011 World Latin can be found on the "Live from Singapore" blog.
Among the last entries is the couple representing Vietnam. Ngo Minh-duc and partner Cao Thi van Diem hail from Hanoi. They came in seventh in five dances Latin at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, CHN.
