Vadim Garbuzov - Kathrin Menzinger, AUT © Goetz The Vienna Dance Concourse, a traditional Senior Competition since 1993, took place in one of the most beautiful ballrooms. Every dancer, no matter whether longstanding participant or newcomer, is deeply impressed by this marvellous hall. One oft he competitors said, he would not be surprised if Emperor Franz and Sissy would enter next door.

This year Seniors of all age groups as well as the nominated PD Professional couples had the opportunity to dance in this great atmosphere. On the evening of Sunday 20 March the PD couples went for the title of the European Champions Showdance Standard. 8 couples were nominated by their country to take part and danced their first round. Six couples qualified for the Final.

Vadim Garbuzov and Kathrin Menzinger, AUT, were crowned European Champions Showdance Standard.

The reigning World Champions showed their programme „Fifty Shades of Grey“ with enthusiasm, great improvement and in an exciting atmosphere. They could convince the adjudicators with their performance and they received the highest scores. They enjoyed the competition very much, but could also feel some pressure, because everybody expected them to win - as they mentioned in an interview.

In 2nd place we saw the couple from Italy Marco Spadafora and Edvige Maria Bilotti. 3rd in November at the World Championship, now winners oft he silver medal. They also try to steadily improve their routine „Addam's Family“

3rd and first time at a Showdance event became the couple from Russia Igor Potovin and Daria Shevelilova. Within a very short time the couple had to prepare and work out a routine. Nominated by their Federation they took the chance and were successful.

The representative from Poland Krzysztof Musiol and Karolina Aniol presented their show „Venus and Mars“ in a technically perfect manner and finished 4th.

5th place in this Final went to another Austrian couple, Danilo Campisi and Julia Burghart. With their choreography „Sicily Meets Austria,“ they reported somehow about their partnership. Typical Austrian music, jodelling like in the Alps, mixed with Italian rhythms, the couple performed its Showdance in a very fresh manner, creative and full of nice ideas, highly appreciated and applauded by the audience.
