Ten Dance Goes To Norway 25/09/2014

Brasov, ROU - 20 September © Branc On 20th of Sept. this years World Championship PD Ten Dance was hosted in Brasov within the Transylvanian Grand Prix, which is traditionally held in this area, organizers Academia de Dans, Monica and Mircea Gavrila. When going from Bucharest to Brasov you follow the street through dark forests, cross the mountains and suddenly the story about the best known figure of Romanian history, Count Dracula, comes to your mind.

In D.P. Colibasi Sports Venue the Professional couples met and it was an interesting competition indeed. Last year' s Champions did not compete any more. So a quick look to the start list and it was obvious , there are quite a few candidates to finish successfully.

There were less couples than last year, but the quality was higher than in previous events. It was proved again, in Ten Dance Competitions it is always very difficult to make a prediction. In the end of the day we saw the closest possible result, Rule 10 was applied.

The couple from Norway Janick Loewe and Pia Lundanes Loewe , joined the Professional field last August, won all the Latin Dances, in Standard they were placed somewhere 3rd and 4th in the Final. In the end 5 1st places in Latin made them World Champions.  Congratulations !

Runners up were from Czech Republic Martin Dvorak and Zuzana Silhanova. Somehow disappointed. In their favorite discipline they could only win 1 dance, against the couple from France Steeve Gaudet and Marioara Cheptene, which also has their priorities in Standard and took 4 dances.
