WDSF President Carlos Freitag returns from Asia with the agreement for the hosting of the WDSF World DanceSport Games 2013 formalised. 

The inaugural edition of these multi-disciplinary games takes place in Kaohsiung, TPE, from 15 to 21 September 2013. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu and WDSF President Freitag signed the document that formally awards the games to the Kaohsiung City Government on Thursday, 20 September, in a ceremony at the City Hall.

For the WDSF World DanceSport Games in 2013, the Competition Programme has been established between the hosts – the Kaohsiung City Government – and the sanctioning body WDSF. It comprises the following disciplines and dance styles.

  • Baton Twirling
  • Boogie-Woogie 
  • Formation
  • HipHop
  • Latin
  • Line Dance
  • Rock 'n' Roll
  • Salsa
  • Standard
  • Wheelchair

Some 730 athletes and 70 officials are involved in the competitions.
