2016 Finland Open 15/02/2016

Helsinki, FIN - 7 March 2015 The "new" DanceSport year is in full swing already. In the WDSF calendar, the weekends are packed with open competitions taking place everywhere. Even if some traditional events are not run in 2016 (Is Tilburg no longer moving?), there are plenty of others to choose from.

Certain couples taking up the top positions in the World Ranking have already added some points this year, others have not. One thing is certain: all of them will be present when the the first GrandSlams of the year get contested on 5 and 6 March in Helsinki, FIN.

Embedded into the traditional Finland Open, the GrandSlam Helsinki stands for the first collective outing of the stars and the best occasion yet to get more ranking points than in any other open competition. A combined total of nearly 200 couples in Latin and Standard took advantage of that in 2015, when the GrandSlam premiered in the Finnish capital. Will 2016 prove to be an even bigger draw?

The organisers tell us that registration is going very well and that the main hotel is already fully booked. Until the end of this week, couples can still enter online for the GrandSlam and all the other events held at the Messukeskus between 4 and 6 March.
