2012 GrandSlam Tokyo

Last year the traditional GrandSlam in Japan's capital was cancelled due to the earthquake and tsunami on 11 March.

Chieko Abe - on behalf of the Japan DanceSport Federation - communicated the decision taken on purely technical grounds, much before the tremendous human suffering caused by the disaster started to unveil itself.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium considers it unsafe to run the competition on Sunday and decided to cancel it.  We, JDSF, have to accept the decision. Sorry for what has happened, and kindly understand the situation.
