On the 12th and 13th of December Shanghai, the largest city in China, hosted the 2009 IDSF Grand Slam Finals. 12 couples qualified in each section for this competition. Traditionally two couples from the host country are given the opportunity to join this event.
In the Standard Grand Slam Benedetto Feruggia and Claudia Koehler were placed first, followed by Andrea Ghigiarelly and Sara Andracchio from Italy. In third place finished Emanuel Valeri and Tania Kehlet dancing for Denmark.
