More Than Ever 06/05/2014

Wheelchair DanceSport The IPC Wheelchair DanceSport has announced that five competitions will take place for the first time during 2014, bringing the total number of events for the year to eight.

Last year there were only three competitions approved by IPC Wheelchair DanceSport: one each in Germany, the Netherlands and Russia. In addition, 160 athletes from 20 countries took part in the IPC World Championships which were held in Tokyo, JPN, last December.

Two of the 2014 competitions have already taken place. The International German Open Championships 2014 were held in Rheinsberg, GER. The Yar Chally Open took place two weeks ago in Naberezhnye Chelny, RUS.

The events still to follow are:

7-8 June – International Serbian, Belgrade, SRB

5-6 July – 2014 Asian Pacific Competition, Beijing, CHN

25-28 July – 2014 IPC WDS Kazakhstan Open, Astana, KAZ

13-15 September – 2014 Continents Cup, St Ptersburg, RUS

27-28 September – Belgium Open, Lommel, BEL

 

And, most importantly, Wheelchair DanceSport will be one of 23 sports featuring in the 2014 Asian Para Games in Incheon, Korea.
