60th Anniversary Russian DanceSport The 60th Anniversary of DanceSport is widely celebrated this year in the Russian Federation. The All Russian Federation of DanceSport and Acrobatic Rock’n’Roll in cooperation with the Red Square Company, the Russian top Chanel One television content provider, organized and held a festive Gala Evening at the State Kremlin Palace to commemorate the jubilee of DanceSport in Russia.

About 500 guests gathered on December 12 in Moscow to recollect the history of DanceSport, to pay tribute to those legendary dancers who were the pioneers of DanceSport in Russia and who made a considerable contribution to DanceSport development. 

All generations of DanceSport community were present at the Gala Evening including Ceslovas and Jurate Norvaisa - the symbol of the legendary generation of DanceSport founders. Russian National Team members, former World and European champions, Russian top teachers and adjudicators attended the 60th Anniversary of DanceSport. 

The event was supported by the Russian top sports officials who came to congratulate the Russian DanceSport with the jubilee: Chairperson of the Sport and Youth Committee of the Russian State Duma Mikhail Degtyarev, Deputy Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Sergey Kosilov, Head of the Department for Sport and Tourism of Moscow Nikolay Gulyaev, Minister of Physical Culture and Sport of Krasnodar region Lyudmila Chernova, Minister of Youth and Sport of Tatarstan Republic Vladimir Leonov. 

WDSF PD Director Verena Sulek and WDSF Presidium member Lena Arvidsson were among honorary guests of the Gala Evening. 

The Masters of Ceremony, Russian National artists Angelina Vovk and Vladimir Berezin created a special festive atmosphere. Performance of the Russian popular singers was a real present for the guests. 

Dancing was definitely in the spotlight. Russian top DanceSport couples and breakers performed their exquisite shows to an ovation of the grateful public. 

Russian DanceSport has come a long way for the past 60 years. Nowadays Russian athletes win medals and show excellent results at international competitions, performing the best quality dancing. A lot has been done to develop DanceSport into a modern kind of sport in Russia. 

The All Russian Federation of DanceSport and Acrobatic Rock’n’Roll – the Russian governing body for DanceSport – pursues the policy aimed at further DanceSport development. Membership in the Russian Olympic Committee recently granted to FDSARR is a new step towards the successful evolution of DanceSport in Russia.  

The 60th Anniversary of DanceSport in the State Kremlin Palace was widely covered by Russian top mass media and television proving that DanceSport remains to be one of the most popular kinds of sports in the Russian Federation.
