Stefano Bernardini - Stefania Martellini, ITA 07/10/2013

In a post about the World Senior I Standard in Dresden on the website of the German DanceSport Federation we came across the "Duel at Eye Level" to describe the closeness of the competition between Tassilo Lax - Sabine Lax, GER, and Stefano Bernardini - Stefania Martellini, ITA.

On two previous occasions, the Germans had kept the upper hand, relegating the Italian couple to second place in 2011 as well as 2012.

Now the order was reversed. But about the only thing that made this outcome extraordinary was the way it was handled by both couples. With an examplary sportmanship and fairness - as both couples awaited the announcement of the winners. Dr Helmut Roland captured the moment and talked to Stefano Bernardini and Stefania Martellini afterwards.
