Strictly ... A Musical

The movie that made for Hollywood taking a blockbuster look at the world of DanceSport in the early 1990s, Strictly Ballroom, has been adapted to the theatrical stage by its director, Australian Baz Luhrmann.

"Strictly Ballroom, The Musical" opened on Saturday 12 April in Sydney. The world premiere was very favourably reviewed. Here is one.

And with all the magic that live musical theatre can create, Baz Luhrmann’s new stage version of his 1992 film Strictly Ballroom packs way more sensory punch than the film ever could.
