Team Building 10/06/2016

German National Teams in Football and DanceSport © TCL Behind the veil of secrecy and unbeknownst to anybody other than the parties involved, the German National Teams in football and in DanceSport (Standard Formation) met on a dance floor in Evians-les-Bains, FRA, for what was a covert exercise in team building.

The idea originated with the psychologist of the German National Football Team, Hans-Dieter Hermann, and it involved a two-hour training session based on DanceSport for football players getting ready to compete in the European Championship held this month in France.

29 female dancers belonging to the 2015 World Champion Standard Formation 1st TC Ludwigsburg were brought by bus to the training camp of the "Mannschaft" in Evians. There they teamed up with their football counterparts - World Champions since 2014 Brazil - for some Salsa and Discofox.

All in all it was an encounter between sportswomen and sportsmen, with much respect and kept at eye level throughout

said centre forward Thomas Müller about the training session.
