Athletes, like all others, may at times experience a medical condition that requires them to use particular medications. The substances that an athlete may be required to take to treat a condition could fall under the Prohibited List. By applying for and obtaining a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) from WDSF or a National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO), an athlete may be allowed to take the necessary medicine.
Athletes who need to apply for a TUE must study the relevant documents below. They may request further clarification regarding the TUE application process from the WDSF Anti-Doping Director (for international-level athletes) or their NADO (for national-level athletes).
Check this section regularly as many of the documents are revised at annual intervals.
