License requirements

Conditions for the application of a WDSF Adjudicator license

C License

  1. Over 21 years old at time of granting
  2. A former (retired) DanceSport competitor having participated in at least 2 National Championships granted by the relevant governing WDSF Member body in Youth/Under 21/Adult categories and/or 2 WDSF World Ranking Tournaments in the disciplines for which «C» license will be issued.
  3. A holder of the Highest-level National Adjudicator’s License for a minimum of two (2) years having also adjudicated at least 5 national competitions granted by the relevant governing WDSF Member body with a minimum two (2) weeks apart between each of them.
  4. Must have passed WDSF Technical Examinations conducted by a WDSF Technical Examiner or undertaken a Technical Examination conducted by an NMB which has a Pre-qualified education system (PQES) previously approved by the WDSF Presidium in accordance with guidelines set by the WDSF Academy.
  5. Must have attended two (2) WDSF Adjudicator’s congresses with a minimum of six months in between, passed the WDSF General Knowledge Test and the WDSF English comprehension examination, provided that participation in the congresses as a candidate for a WDSF adjudicators license is possible only after passing a WDSF Technical Examination or Technical Examination conducted by WDSF National Member Body with the Pre-qualified education system (PQES) approved by the WDSF Presidium.
  6. License «C» in a given discipline may be upgraded to license «B». To upgrade to license «B». a «C» license holder shall submit a request to the WDSF Academy and WDSF Vice-President for Sports to take the additional WDSF Advanced Technical Examination no earlier than three (3) years from the date of obtaining a «C» license having adjudicated at least ten (10) WDSF Open competitions in a given discipline with a minimum two (2) weeks apart between each of them.

B License

  1. Over 21 years old at a time of granting.
  2. A former (retired) DanceSport competitor of the highest-level national class having competed in Adult or Professional Division main class for at least 2 years and participated at least in 10 WDSF World Ranking Competitions in Adult or Professional Division main class with a minimum one (1) week apart between each of them providing that alternative competitive experience may be considered at the discretion of the WDSF Vice President for Sports or WDSF Sports Director.
  3. A holder of the highest-level National Adjudicator ́s License for a minimum of two (2) years with qualification to adjudicate National Championships, having adjudicated at least 5 national competitions with a minimum two (2) weeks apart between each of them.
  4. Must have passed WDSF Technical Examinations conducted by a WDSF Technical Examiner or undertaken a Technical Examination conducted by NMB which has a Pre-qualified education system (PQES) previously approved by the WDSF Presidium in accordance with guidelines set by the WDSF Academy.
  5. Must have attended two (2) WDSF Adjudicator’s congresses with a minimum of six months in between and passed the WDSF General Knowledge Test and the WDSF English comprehension examination. Provided always that participation in the congresses as a candidate for a WDSF Adjudicator’s license is possible only after passing a WDSF Technical Examination or Technical Examination conducted by a WDSF National Member Body with the Pre-qualified education system (PQES) approved by the WDSF Presidium.

OR

  1. Has held a valid and subsisting WDSF "C"; Adjudicator ́s License for at least three (3) years having adjudicated at least ten (10) WDSF competitions with a minimum one (1) week apart between each of them;
  2. Successfully passed the WDSF Advanced Technical Examination.

A License

After June 15, 2014, a WDSF Adjudicators A Licence may be issued by the WDSF Sports Director, the WDSF Academy and the Education Commission only to an adjudicator who:

  1. has held a valid and subsisting WDSF "B" Adjudicators License for at least one (1) year
  2. fulfils the requirements for a WDSF "B" Adjudicator ́s License.
  3. attended and successfully completed the WDSF Absolute Judgement Course and successfully passed the associated examinations.
  4. Adjudicated not fewer than five (5) WDSF Open or WDSF International (World Ranking Tournament) competitions, each with a minimum of two (2) weeks apart in a given discipline.
