The Evolution

As the World DanceSport Federation evolves further in accordance with its VISION 2012 development plan, it unites all forms and styles of dance practised as sport under one umbrella, it serves as the single delivery system for a redefined DanceSport, and it seeks to multiply the quality opportunities for participation in DanceSport at all levels.

HipHop  Standard   

The World DanceSport Federation is the sole governing body recognised by the International Olympic Committee as being responsible for DanceSport worldwide. It holds memberships in the world sports organisations such as SportAccord, Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations, International World Games Associations and others.

The Mission

The World DanceSport Federation pursues all objects in the current Statutes. Additional objects evolve from the broader mission and scope of the restructured body.

  • To provide more athletes in DanceSport with pathways to fulfil their ambitions and their potential.
  • To offer more dancers a wider range of athlete-centred and progressive competition opportunities in dance styles that have adopted a sports-based culture.
  • To increase the recreational participation in DanceSport through the promotion of its health and social benefits.
