From Fourth To Sixth

That the final of this third leg of the 2017 GrandSlam Latin Series would be hotly contested had to be expected. Not just at the top, between first and second, but across all places. In the tally of points after all five dances the difference between the fourth and the sixth couple was less than two points and the general feeling that this marging could well have been less. In the Cha Cha Cha, fourth-placed Timur Imametdinov - Nina Bezzubova, GER, and sixth-placed Andrey Gusev - Vera Bondareva, RUS, had identical scores: 36.92. And it took their last and also best dance of the final, the Jive, for the Germans to narrowly pull ahead of the fifth-placed Charles-Guillaume Schmitt - Elena Salikhova, FRA.

Even if all three couples would have loved to make the podium too, they all seemed satisfied with their dancing - as well as the scores.
