The Other World Championships

While the Standard couples danced their shoes off in their 2012 World Championship downunder, two other Worlds took place in Europe. WDSF Communications received photographs from the World Senior I Latin in Rouen, FRA, and a report by Verena Sulek about the WDSF PD World Ten Dance in Milan, ITA.

Below are some of the finalist pictures that Marius Mutin sent from Rouen. Another three can be found in the Gallery

2012 WDSF PD World Ten Dance

2012 WDSF PD World Championship Ten Dance The participation of 19 couples from 9 countries was quite encouraging for PD Ten Dance championships. The Championship was held in the Sheraton Hotel at the Milano Airport. It took quite a lot of time and energy for the PD Sports Director Joachim Llambi and for me to resolve misunderstandings regarding the obligations of the organisers of PD World Championships towards the participating couples during the past week . However, at the end of the day the Championship was well organised by a team of six Italian professionals (Valloni Alberto & Corbetta Sonia, Gioncada Antonio & Zone Roberta, Fogli Mauro & Dal Zotto Arianna) working together jointly, and the atmosphere in the hall was really great. Sutu OK was featuring as adjudicator while I was asked to represent PD in participating together with the FIDS President at the opening ceremony and at the prize presentation.
