2014 GrandSlam Standard

2014 GrandSlam Wuhan It was over a month ago that the international elite in the Standard dances had gathered in Wuhan, CHN, to contest the fourth leg of the GrandSlam Series 2014. Couples had travelled from far and wide to be there.

Now, as we look at the starting list of the Moscow leg, we find a number of couples that came all the way from Asia. Great! But we come up short when we start looking for couples we had expected to be here. Mostly because they had told us so in Wuhan.

This will be the second-biggest GrandSlam Standard of the year. Pending final confirmation at the start of the first round, the total number of entries stands at 255. However, a top-level competition series can ill afford to have some of its "stars" missing at one leg.

Our cameraman Ferran Castanyer is recording couples from the first round. As we did in Stuttgart and Wuhan, we will upload as many clips as possible of the early rounds to YouTube and produce the semi-final and final for our video-on-demand service DanceSport Total Plus.
