World Champions of the Past

World Championships Latin under the auspices of the World DanceSport Federation or its predecessor the International Council of Amateur Dancers and the International DanceSport Federation have been contested since 1960. First to win the title were Frenchmen Paul and Lucienne Hillion.

The only year without any champions getting crowned was 1963. Of the 52 titles that were awarded, 15 went to Germany, 14 to Great Britain - or to the parts thereof - 6 to Italy and 5 to Norway.

One thing is certain, there will be a new World Champion announced tomorrow. The defending champions are not among the entries. But there is one dancer who has a shot at winning an unprecedented fourth world title. Who could that be?
