We hope to be able to publish a full starting list first thing tomorrow morning at the latest. As we were informed by the organisers earlier this week, some 60 couples had been entered by their National Member Bodies. Everybody who is somebody in the Standard dances on this continent seemed to be heading to Wroclaw for this championship. However, earlier today we learned that the defending European Champions, Simone Segatori and Annette Sudol, GER, withdrew and won't be here to defend their title.
They last danced an invitational competition in Shijazuhang, CHN, where they won ahead of Evaldas Sodeika Ieva Zukauskaite, LTU, at the beginning of this month. The German couple came in second to Dmitry Zharkov - Olga Kulikova, RUS, in the GrandSlam Wuhan on 15 April.
