The quarterfinal of the 2017 GrandSlam Standard Hong Kong is about to start. 70 couples have entered this third leg of the Series; that's only six less than in yesterday's Latin. 24 couples are left at this point of the competition. Looking at their names in the starting list for round three is nearly the same as going through the top 24 of the 2017 GrandSlam Ranking.
Virtually all the standouts in Standard are dancing at the QE II Stadium tonight. And among them are Ten Dance specialists Winson Tam - Anastasia Novikova. The Canadians finished in 12th place in yesterday's GrandSlam Latin - their stronger side - and if they should make the semi-final in Standard, we'd likely be looking at the top contenders for the 2017 World Ten Dance that is scheduled this October in Marseille, FRA.
