Breaking with an long-standing tradition, the organisers of the GOC scheduled the GrandSlam Standard for Friday night and the Latin for Saturday. As everybody knows, the GOC builds up momentum with every day that passes, Saturday - the final day - is traditionally considered the pinnacle of the event.
Well, the Standard finalists didn't just roll over and surrender the long-held privilege of being the main attraction on the last day of the GOC. They made their FRIDAY final resemble that held on Saturday last year 100%, with standing ovations dispensed throughout the final, and they gave it that special feeling of: "LIVE, from Stuttgart, it is SATURDAY NIGHT!"
We have seen a sensational final last night, a deserving winner - Dmitry and Olga - and also brilliant runners-up: Evaldas and Ieva in second place, Evegeny and Dana in third. It was a pleasure to watch the GrandSlam LIVE, from 9 p.m. until past midnight local time.
