The fourth leg of the 2019 WDSF Grand Slam Series continues in Stuttgart on Friday. Total of 238 couples have registered for the event by August 6th. The first round will be danced already on Thursday afternoon, The first round will be danced already on Thursday afternoon, and the qualified couples will be joined by the one-star and two-star couples on Friday afternoon on the rounds that will follow.

Out of the top24 couples on the World Ranking List, 23 have registered and it means qualifying for the quarterfinal will require making a statement, which makes the couples to stand out with their skills and performances. Like in any sports, no position is fixed, and in an event as large as GOC, anything can happen.

There are some favourites, though, and it will be interesting to see not only who the top twelve are but also how the list of top six couples after the semifinal turns out this time. Evaldas Sodeika – Ieva Zukauskaite (LTU) have been dominating the 2019 GrandSlam Series by winning it all and getting more points in scores in event after another. Francesco Galuppo – Debora Pacini (ITA), the recent World Cup winners, have been securing their position as the first runners-up in all three preceding legs of the Series. The same goes for the second runners-up, Evgeny Moshenin – Dana Spitsyna (RUS). This trio took over the podium of the 2019 European Championship in May, in a similar order.

Right behind the anticipated three favourite couples are the strong Russians, Alexey Glukhov – Anastasia Glazunova and Evgeny Nikitin – Anastasia Miliutina. Representing the strong Standard traditions of the Baltic countries, Vaidotas Lacitis – Veronika Golodneva (LTU) and Madis Abel – Aleksandra Galkina (EST) will be joined by Vadim Shurin – Anastasia Meshkova (LAT) and Edgars Linis – Eliza Ancane (LAT) to compete for the six spots in the final together with the home turf couples, Anton Skuratov – Alena Uehlin and Tomas Fainsil – Violetta Posmetnaya, representing Germany.

Last year the event ended with standing ovations, as Dmitry Zharkov – Olga Kulikova (RUS) secured their 18th GrandSlam win. This year the couple is having their first take at Professional Division on Thursday. But, it is expected that the overwhelming support by the knowledgeable German crowd carries to the dance floor throughout the week, and certainly not least when the GrandSlam Standard SuperStars make their entrance at Beethoven Saal for the fourth leg of the 2019 WDSF GrandSlam Series.

The decisive stages of the chapter four of the journal of the 2019 WDSF GrandSlam Series Standard will be livestreamed through DanceSportTotal.com. The quarterfinal at 18:50 CET, the semifinal at 21:05 CET and the final at 22:25 CET, on Friday, August 16th.
