As we are about to switch to the next blog - "Live from Platja d'Aro, ESP - something special to put this one on a temporary hold! More from the two Moscow competitions of 26 and 27 October will get uploaded here - eventually.
Andrey Zaitsev / Anna Kuzminskaya, RUS, perform an impressive freestyle routine during the Opening Ceremony for Dance Accord 2012 (World Youth Ten Dance, GrandSlam Standard) on 27 October in Moscow, RUS.
Just as many of the "double star" couples, the WDSF Communications team members come off the GrandSlam Standard in Moscow, take a few days off and do the laundry, and then head straight to Platja d'Aro in Spain for the next GrandSlam leg there.
With the GrandSlam Standard in Platja d'Aro being televised LIVE on Eurosport and Eurosport Asia next Sunday at 19:00 CET (+7 hours in Asia), the team's work is cut out to prepare for what will hopefully be a successful premiere (one that will induce the programming executives at Eurosport to carry the entire Series from 2013).
From tomorrow, we report on the "Live from Platja d'Aro, ESP" blog about the preparations for the live transmission from the Palau de Congressos i d'Esports. For the moment, we urge the DanceSport communities in Europe and Asia (within Eurosport's footprint there) to promote the 2-hour broadcast to their families and friends. Every viewer counts!
Here are just some of the scheduled airtimes for the programme in different countries.
EUROSPORT INTERNATIONAL (CET)
EUROSPORT RUSSIA (CET +3h)
EUROSPORT ASIA (CET +7h)
EUROSPORT GERMANY
In Germany, the live programme will be limited to one hour (20:00 - 21:00) because of a European Championship handball game. The full programme will be repeated on EUROSPORT 2 thereafter.
The WDSF DanceSport Academy has finally been able to wrap up work on another learning resource. This one is aimed at the adjudicators first and foremost. It is the acclaimed lecture that the Danish trainer Peter Stokkebroe held during the WDSF Adjudicators' Congress in Stuttgart, GER, on 18 August. Peter is backed up by his wife Kristina and a team of Latin dancers.
Topic is "poise, balance and coordination" as they relate to the adjudicating in DanceSport.
The WDSF DanceSport Academy thanks Peter and the entire team for allowing this lecture to be included as a learning resource in its "YouTraining DanceSport" series.
Heidi Goetz interviews Benedetto Ferruggia - Claudia Koehler, GER, after their win of the 2012 WDSF GrandSlam Standard in Moscow, RUS, on 27 October.
More clips of Saturday's competitions (World Youth Ten Dance and GrandSlam Standard) will go up on this blog over the next few days. WDSF Communications reminds the followers here that another blog will be launched in time for the next GrandSlam Standard and the World Open Latin in Platja d'Aro, ESP, on 4 November.
As we have informed earlier, thanks to our colleagues at interdance.ru, a Russian DanceSport website, we are able to provide you a continuous live feed from the 2012 World Open Latin Moscow right here. Enjoy!
The webcast of the World Open Latin has ended. WDSF Communications thanks interdance.ru for allowing us to show the live stream here on the blog.
We are being informed that leaving Moscow by air is somewhat more difficult than on most other days. Snow and low temparatures make de-icing necessary.
The same WDSF Communications team member reporting about his journey back from last week's WDSF PD European in Slovenia - bucolic picture included here - sent us a more dramatic photo taken at the Sheremetyevo airport prior to his return ... With a four hour delay.
But he made it out and landed in Barcelona a few minutes ago!
Happy to be back in Barcelona!
Only one couple was able to talk with a truly broad focus about both competitions held on 27 October in Moscow: Bjoern and Ashley had made the GrandSlam final; Ashley's brother Errol had won his first World Ten Dance silver with partner Zhaniya Zharmenova for Kazakhstan.
WDSF Communications' Heidi Goetz caught up with them very late last night.
WDSF Communications had put all its emphasis on the 2012 World Youth Ten Dance and the GrandSlam Standard here in Moscow. And indeed, two great Ten Dance finals and 30 solo dances by the GrandSlam finalists concluded our coverage at 11 p.m. Moscow time yesterday.
But today, there is more "Live from ..." still to come - eventhough the WDSF Communications team hast left Moscow earlier this morning (some members after only four hours sleep). Our colleagues of interdance.ru, a Russian DanceSport website, are still at the Crocus Expo and follow another macro-competition: the World Open Latin (plus a few other competitions).
Generuously, the interdance.ru colleagues allow WDSF to embed their continuous live feed from Moscow on this blog. We are now trying to find out when the World Open Latin will enter in its decisive stages (semi-final and final). For the time being you can already follow the continuous feed on an earlier blog post here (cameras will be operated from the quarterfinal).
