Moldovan couples take home two important WDSF PD World titles in October 30/10/2022

October 2022 remains in DanceSport history for many reasons. Not only because the WDSF competition calendar is filling up with fabulous events, but also because all the athletes on the floor have been eager to join the events, and the competition organizers have been appreciating it by producing and setting up the events with high quality standards.

For WDSF Professional Division October has been a wonderful month of World Championship events. On October 15th, Leipzig (GER) hosted the 2022 WDSF PD World Championship Latin with 18 couples on the starting list. The winners, Gabriele Goffredo – Anna Matus (MDA) secured their 7th World title and the 4th WDSF PD World title. The three-times IWGA World Games winners demonstrated their athleticism by scoring an impressive total score in the final standings, close to 195 points in scores. Andrea Silvestri – Martina Varadi (HUN), the reigning WDSF PD European Latin and WDSF PD World ShowDance Latin Champions from earlier this year returned to the podium and earned the silver medals. This is their first year in Professional Division.  Cseke Zsolt Sandor - Malika Dzumaev (GER) debuted the Professional Division this August and their first appearance at the WDSF PD World Championship Latin earned them the bronze medals.

A week later, on 23rd of October, the 2022 WDSF PD World Championship Standard took place in Toronto (CAN) with 19 couples on the starting list. It was the tenth time which turned out to be the charm for Nikolay Darin – Natalia Seredina (MDA), who secured their first World Championship title with their beautiful dancing and athleticism. Vaidotas Lacitis – Veronika Golodneva (LTU), danced beautifully as well and made the competition results very tight and exciting. Their steady performance awarded them the silver medals in final standings. We could welcome another new couple in Professional Division this year, Edgars Linis – Eliza Line (LAT) had a fabulous debut in their first WDSF PD World Championship Standard, which earned them the bronze medals and a place on the podium.

Congratulations to all the finalists of these exciting PD events for their success!
