2021 Annual General Assembly to be held online 20/04/2021

wdsfstickerblue.jpg

The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) will hold this year’s Annual General Meeting online on 25 July 2021 as a result of the ongoing pandemic.

The decision comes as COVID-19 continues to pose multiple challenges, not least of which being travel restrictions that make it difficult for members to attend the AGM initially scheduled to take place in Bratislava, Slovakia.

While it is impossible to predict with certainty what the coronavirus situation will be like in the second half of 2021, the WDSF Presidium decided that it would be prudent to shift the AGM online now to provide certainty and clarity to our National Member Bodies. It will also give the WDSF ample time to prepare the best possible online AGM, one that will be based on a number of similar meetings successfully held by International Federations during the pandemic.

As this will be an election year for the AGM, it is important that all NMBs have the same access and availabilities. We understand that this news will come as a disappointment to some, but we ask for your continued understanding and solidarity during these unprecedented times. Getting DanceSport fully operational again remains our top priority and it can only happen by working together.

Detailed information regarding the conduct of the online AGM will be sent to the NMBs in due time.

As time will be limited during the online AGM and as many of our Delegates live in different time zones, the WDSF Presidium will organise a number of Extraordinary General Meetings in writing prior to the AGM. This approach will provide enough time during the EGM’s and the online AGM for some discussions and for the elections.

A reminder of the important statutory deadlines and other information regarding the 2021 WDSF AGM follows:

NOMINATION OF DELEGATES

The online registration of delegates is currently open (WDSF system) and will close on July 4th, 2021

To make it easier for member bodies to manage the registration of their delegates and guests, the WDSF has implemented an online registration system for the Annual General Meetings. With this system you can register delegates/guests, and provide the Power of Attorney and Proxies, if necessary. The system allows you to change, cancel and update your registrations afterwards up until three weeks before the event. After this date you have to contact the WDSF Office.
