Stella Dance Studio © Batu Pahat The WDSF DanceSport Proficiency Test (DSPT) provides the platform for young beginning students to experience dancing beyond the levels of social dance, serving them as their initiation into dance as sport.

The structure of the exams encompasses the WDSF syllabus figures at different levels, from basic to pre-competition. Participants may start with a solo routine and advance progressively to dancing a competitive routine with a partner. This series of tests prepares the student for an exciting journey as a DanceSport athlete in the WDSF competitions structure.

The WDSF DSPT is administered at 11 different levels. Successful candidates receive a WDSF Certificate and a medal.

WDSF DanceSport Academy chair Shawn Tay reports that the WDSF DSPT system was rolled and the first tests were held in Singapore and Malaysia on 1, 2 and 3 Nov 2015. The next countries where tests will be held are Vietnam and China.

With the help of the WDSF DanceSport Academy, other WDSF Member Bodies can introduce the WDSF DanceSport Proficiency Test in their countries too.
