Busy weekends in WDSF DanceSport continue 01/12/2021

From Poland to Germany, France, Spain,…

It was one of the most anticipated highlights of the season when the 34 Ten Dance couples entered the floor in Elblag (POL) last week, to dance for the 2021 WDSF World Championship Ten Dance title.

After a marathon of four rounds and 40 dances, the runners-up in 2019, Evgeny Sveridonov – Angelina Barkova (FDSARR) were declared the winners and the new World Ten Dance title holders. They are now double World Champions, as they have also won the World Ten Dance Championship in U21 age category in 2015.

The reigning European Ten Dance Champions from September, Earle Williamson – Veronika Myshko (UKR) ranked second and Andrea Roccatti – Marika Odikadze (ISR) ranked third, just like at Europeans. Errol Williamson – Ami Williamson (DEN) ranked fourth, Armand Fazullin – Klaudia Iwanska (POL) fifth and Lorenzo Alberetti – Martina Dionigi (ITA) sixth.

It surely was a fabulous event, and, for our pleasure, the upcoming weekend offers even more highlights, and more World Championship events.

World Latin Thumbnail Fans of Latin dancing are strongly recommended to join and enjoy our livestream from Pforzheim (GER), as the 2021 WDSF World Championship Latin with 66 fabulous couples kicks off on Saturday.

The live stream is available at www.dancesporttotal.com starting from quarterfinals round at 19:45 CET.

The 2021 WDSF World Championship Formation Standard takes place in Braunschweig (GER), also on Saturday. Innovative and creative choreographies are guaranteed as the 15 formations on the starting list have been preparing their routines and fine-tuning their technique and positions on the floor to a point that it looks like they are dancing as one.

Paris (FRA) hosts the 2021 WDSF World Breaking Championship event. An impressive line-up of b-boys and b-girls from all around the world are gathering to battle 1vs1 at the Théâtre du Châtelet on Saturday. And, who knows, some of these highly talented and skilled athletes we see on Saturday could come back to Paris later, in 2024, for the upcoming Olympic Games. The event also serves as a qualifier for the World Games, set to take place in Birmingham, Alabama (USA) in July 2022.

This is not the only qualifier event of the week for the World Games. La Nucia (ESP) hosts a WDSF Sport Series Games Qualifier for Standard couples on Sunday. What makes this European qualifier especially interesting is that the reigning WDSF PD World Champions and the reigning WDSF World Champions and the runners-up are competing on the same floor at the same competition. This is rarely the case, and we are looking forward to this unique event!

And, there is more. The 2021 WDSF European Championship Youth Ten Dance takes place in Minsk (BLR), the 2021 WDSF World Championship Junior II Ten Dance takes place in Vilnius (LTU), and WDSF PD World Cup Smooth takes place in Moscow (RUS).

It’s fair to say that it is a beginning of a Dancing December. Tune in on our channels to catch the best parts of it all during the weekend!
