Encouragement from High Up 04/12/2008

Avatar Dr. Thomas Bach, the President of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and Vice President of the International Olympic Committee, attended his first major DanceSport competition. On 29 November he was among the 7,000 spectators filling the Max-Schmeling-Hall in Berlin to capacity on the occasion of the 2008 IDSF World Ten Dance Championships. The German sports leader is quoted in the news item on the tournament involving couples from 33 nations. "A great event, great sport, congratulations to Berlin," was his enthusiastic post-event analysis.

Sitting at the floorside VIP table with IDSF President Carlos Freitag, Dr. Bach was able to exchange on IDSF policies as well.

"We could speak about our VISION 2012; Dr. Bach is supporting it totally and believes that it is the only way for IDSF to move into the future," reports President Freitag on nearly four hours of conversation.
