As part of this event, the organisers will also stage the 1st PAN-AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS for YOUTH, ADULT and SENIOR I categories. It is expected that these championships gather couples from all countries in the Americas that are members of the WDSF: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, United States, Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay, and, of course, the best couples from Chile.
An International Congress for Adjudicators as well as the first meeting of Federation Presidents and representatives from the American countries - regardless whether associated to WDSF or not - will be held at the same time. The aim of these two activities is to forge partnerships between federations in the Americas on sports as well as management level, so as to continue making DanceSport more popular in these countries.
That Chile was chosen as host of the first Pan-American Championhips is an expression of the appreciation for the great work carried out by Chilean officials and athletes in the field of competitive dancing over recent years.
