From Wroclaw, POL 05/04/2016

TWG 2013 Cali © CLOC The DanceSport events at The World Games 2013 in Cali, COL, are hard acts to follow. The competitions with the biggest crowd and - quite possibly - the best atmosphere ever, they upped the bar for all future organisers. That is why WDSF, its Member Body for Poland and the 2017 Wroclaw Organising Committee pull out all the stops to ensure that DanceSport will shine at its brightest again - next year, during The World Games.

Work is in progress and an important pre-event takes place in Wroclaw on 14 May: the 2016 European Standard is danced in the Centennial Hall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and DanceSport's venue in 2017. WDSF Sports Director Marco Sietas reports on a two-day trip to Wroclaw.

Dear all,

During the last two days,I was visiting the city of Wroclaw in order to have several meetings with our NMB,the LOC and the WOC.

In between of those meetings,I had the opportunity to speak with the major of Wroclaw as well as the treasurer of the city.
The major is supporting our WDSF as well as the national Polish events in Wroclaw.

With our NMB and LOC,I disscussed all matters related to the 2016 WDSF European DanceSport Championship Standard and of course as well the 2017 IWGA World Games.
We had a 1.5 hours conversation inside the Sportshall, were our events will be held.
We spoke about logistical things, accomodation, shuttle,Run downs etcetc.

After the visit to the Sportshall, the meetings with the major and treasurer were scheduled.

The WOC office is very close to the government house.
We had our meeting straight after the visit to the major.

The Vicepresident as well as the Sports Director of the Games, were present.
We discussed everything in detail and I advised to change certain things, due to my visit now to Wroclaw.
They agreed on this and they thanked for the ideas and experience I could offered to them.
We had small difficulties to combine the needs of the Gymnastic Federation and ours. But at the end,we could manage eveything too.
Both Federations are using the same Sportshall, only one comp.day after the other.

I can inform you, that I am convinced that the European as well as the Games, will be a huge success.
We are working already together since several months and I am happy to say, that there is a good team as well I do not have the same problems I had in Cali.

Regards
Marco Sietas
