IDSF Vision 2012 Working Group 22/03/2010

Vision 2012

The second meeting of the IDSF Vision 2012 Working Group took place in Barcelona, ESP, on 21 March. Representatives of the prospective stakeholders discussed the proceedings to have IDSF evolve into the World DanceSport Federation.

After the first meeting of the working group had deliberated the fundamentals of the Vision 2012 concept and released a joint statement - click here - this time the focus was on the concrete steps to be taken over the next years.

The first draft of an amended Associate Membership Agreement, which aims to draw associated organisations closer to IDSF and provide for collaboration at different levels, was presented  and discussed.

The draft will now be studied by the Presidia of the organisations, and their feedback will be presented to the next working group meeting in Vienna, AUT, which will be held just prior to the IDSF Forum on 12 June.

Two new organisations were present at the meeting of the IDSF Vision 2012 Working Group:

International Federation of Cheerleading - IFC (click here)

World Baton Twirling Federation - WBTF (click here)

They, too, will now consider whether to join the Vision 2012 project.
