Russian Dancers Don’t Worry! 15/06/2016

Ashli Williamson Ashli Williamson, the Chair of the WDSF Athletes' Commission, issued a statement immediately after the 2016 General Meeting had passed the motion to expel the Member Body for Russia.

Her statement has been posted on our Facebook page on 13 June. We have decided to publish it here too after questions by Russian dancers have reached us.

Russian Dancers Don’t Worry!

As maybe some of you heard, a motion was passed by the 2016 General Meeting to expel the Russian DanceSport Union (RDSU) on October 31st 2016. Only, of course, if the RDSU does not take proper measures to unite and improve certain points within the organisation.

The most important news is:
Another motion was passed immediately afterwards to be able to, if the RDSU is expelled, distribute all necessary WDSF licences directly to both ATHLETES and ADJUDICATORS.

This means all WDSF athletes and adjudicators will still be able to compete and participate in all WDSF competitions before and after the 31st of October, no matter the outcome.

We encourage all athletes to help the organisation to make these changes so we can unify Russian DanceSport again.

Best Regards,
Ashli Williamson
