20/02/2024 read more ...The WDSF Athletes' Commission is looking for candidates for election as the Americas, the Asian and the Oceanic representative.
The WDSF Athletes' Commission (AC) is a permanent commission of the WDSF Presidium that consists of athletes who are elected solely by other WDSF athletes. The AC represents the interest of the athletes, advises the Presidium on matters that are relevant to the athletes, and works to improve the communication between the Presidium and the athletes.
The 4-year term of our current Americas, Asian and Oceanic representatives, Ms Rikako Ota, Mr Antonio Micheli and Mr Anton Belyayev, respectively from the aforementioned regions, has concluded. Therefore, all athletes dancing and having their residence in the region Americas, Asia or Oceanic may now volunteer or be nominated as candidates for that region. All three current representatives whose positions now becomes vacant have indicated they would like to be re-elected and confirmed their candidacy for the vacant position.
You have to be at least 18 years of age. One of the candidates approved by the Commission as qualified under the WDSF Athletes' Commission Operating Policy will be elected to serve a 4-year term as a member of the Athletes Commission.
Any active athlete having its residence in the regions mentioned that is 18 years or over may submit his or her candidacy together with a resume and reasons or statement for candidacy, to the following e-mail address by 14 May 2016, 17:00 CEST: [email protected].
We will be conducting an in-person election at both the WDSF Grand Slam Standard & Latin American on 4 and 5 June 2016 in Hong Kong. We may run parallel electronic elections. If we do, further instructions on the electronic voting will be issued once the candidates are known.
One of the accepted candidates from each region mentioned will be elected in the overall electoral process.
