Less than a week after the memorable 2017 World DanceSport Championship in the Latin American Dances, WDSF is proud to release a stunning Vimeo on Demand programme on the decisive stages. Semi-final and final in full length, the quarterfinal as a bonus feature, beind-the-scene and up-close-and-personal pieces as well as interviews with semi-finalists and finalists ... plus interview with all the medallists ... But above all, a marriage proposal like none other ever made in the history of DanceSport! Get all of this for a VERY FAIR US$ 3.75 for a six-month (yes, 6-month) streaming period!
Another instalment in the "Adjudicators' Debrief" series of recordings. WDSF Adjudicators' Commission Chairman Cor van der Stroet debriefs Anna de Grande, who judged the 2017 World Latin in Vienna, AUT, in a one-on-one session held on the day following the championship.
There is no doubt that these sessions generate interest within the DanceSport community. The first two were posted three and two days ago and have accrued some 3,000 views between them already. Probably the time to watch something like this would be over the weekend. Here is a link to our WDSF DanceSport Academy YouTube channel. They are all in a playlist there!
Only very few couples who had danced the 2017 World Championship Latin on Saturday chose to enter the 2017 Vienna World Open Latin on Sunday. Those who did and placed well enough secured themselves good World Ranking points. Some were even handed their share of the generous purse that the AOC organisers had put up.
Unlike the World Open Standard the day before, the Latin Final Reel was not a multi-camera production with the host broadcaster adding their outside broadcasting hardware. This one was recorded with one single camera - but it was operated by our colleague Ferran Castanyer. At a later point, we will let you compare the two productions in yet another survey we are conducting on your expectations regarding streaming.
Here is the third instalment in the "Adjudicators' Debrief" series of recordings. Today it is Eva Bartunkova who sits down with the debriefer, Cor van der Stroet. And just as in the previous instalments, the audio is of rather low quality - but what is being said is enlightening in many ways. Enjoy!
It was not only the 2017 World Latin that drew everyone's attention to the floor at the Multiversum in Vienna - Schwechat, AUT, on 18 November. As every year, the AOC organisers had scheduled a World Open in Standard and Latin too. The Standard ran concurrently with the World Championship Latin.
It drew 71 entries, among them the 2017 World Champions crowned in Chengdu, CHN, in September: Dmitry Zharkov and Olga Kulikova ... Not many couples from the top ten in the World Ranking were absent. Watch for yourself.
The organisers of the 2017 World Latin had invited previous World Champions to attend the event on 18 November at the Multiversum in Vienna - Schwechat, AUT. Many of them did. On the left and below are photo and video of this distinguished group!
Looking at both, would you be able to determine who are the most senior and the most recent champions who were called to the floor between the quarter- and semi-final of the 2017 World Latin? The first three who submit their correct answers ny adding a Facebook comment to this post (and only to this post - not anywhere else) will get a courtesy code for the Vimeo on Demand programme covering the most memorable World Latin of all times:
https://vimeo.com/ondemand/2017worldlatin
Make sure you're fast as well as correct as you add your answer! This can be researched!
That is what we say after most events, particularly when there is a massive backlog of videos and photos still to be processed and uploaded to the different platforms. Fact is, everything that was recorded for YouTube is available by now. Maybe a few additional pictures will get added. What is still in the pipelines is the Vimeo on Demand programme which is scheduled to be released by Friday:
Why not pre-order the Vimeo on Demand programme on the 2017 World Latin in Vienna, AUT, for a six-month streaming period? US$ 3.75! A really fair price for what many experts considered the best World Latin - ever! And it was definitely the only one ever with a marriage proposal included.

That a video of this nature and with definite technical shortfall in terms of audio quality would get viewed close to 1000 times in 24 hours should be confirmation that there is interest out there.
You can rest assured, the next sessions will be recorded with better microphones, and a few additional changes are also considered in what is the hardware used in the process. What is surprising: not many comments (other than complaints about the audio) were received. Everybody has the opportunity to add comments right here with his/her Facebook identity. Alternatively, you can do it on YouTube.
Here is the second instalment: Cor van der Stroet debriefs Joanne Wilkinson. Enjoy!
