After a grey and rainy Friday, the Championship day has come, and so has sunshine! The temperature outside is close to 0 degrees, but the temperature indoors at Siemens Arena will soon rise as the World Championship couples are about to take the buses and enter the arena.
The couples will start their warm-up at noon, and the first round starts at 13:00 local time.
Yesterday during the interview we found out that it will be the last competition in amateurs for Vaidotas Lacitis - Veronika Golodneva (LTU) today. They explained that ending this stage of their career after the World Championship in their home town was a good way to do it. "We will see what life will bring for us!"
The couple will continue their career in the WDSF Professional Division, and there are already some competitions planned. No need to say good bye then, but only to turn a new page, and write a new chapter in their career!
But, before that, we have a lot of stuff coming up. All is set for the first rounds, and videos and photos will start rolling in from round one onwards. We have also planned a new way for the DanceSport Community to be interactive, in Twitter, during the livestream. Feel free to comment and follow other members' comments using hashtag #worldstdlive.
