Teaser for the FINAL REEL of the memorable championships held in Aarhus, DEN, on 21 and 22 April: 2012 WDSF World DanceSport Championship U-21 Latin | 2012 WDSF European DanceSport Championship Ten Dance!
The quality of the dancing was outstanding ... and the images produced by host broadcaster dk4 were simply stunning. That is why the WDSF Communications team has decided to edit a FINAL REEL on both competitions even though the recordings of the live streams are in HD quality already.
The broadcaster dk4 will air the European DanceSport Championship Ten Dance from 20:30 to 23:00 next Saturday, 28 April, in Denmark! After the repeats over the coming weeks we will be able unblock the videos on DanceSport Total.
Another photograph that has received much acclaim of the "thumbs up" kind on the WDSF facebook page shows Benjamin Becker and Josefin Dinger, GER, in dramatic action during the 2012 World U-21 Latin.
Looking through the photos under Wojtek Kopczyński's link (see comment to below post), we finally came across one of a blond and a blonde together ... It seems to be the exception!

WDSF Communications has posted a series of photographs taken by Helmut Roland under the title "Blond ... But Latin!" on facebook this morning. The six pictures are getting considerable approval by the community there, and that had us decide to bring you two of them on the blog as well.
All "Blond but ..." photographs here as well as on facebook were taken by Helmut Roland at the European Ten Dance or the World U-21 Latin in Aarhus, DEN.

From its offices in Sant Cugat, Catalonia, Spain, WDSF wishes the followers of this blog a "Happy St George's Day" ... Some of you may remember a similar post last year - also from Sant Cugat.
Here It Goes Again: Feliç Sant Jordi!
Hard to understand for those who have never experienced it, Saint George's Day is a popular festive day when book and rose stalls, and, above all, floods of people, take over the streets of all Catalan towns and villages. The celebration could not be simpler: the ritual consists of going for a walk and buying a rose, a book or both to give to loved ones, family members and friends. Although it is not a public holiday, the day and the essential walk fill the streets and squares, making it a unique national festival celebrated on a working day.
This time the Saint George's Day wish is extended with an original design of a rose by Lluís Puigbert, the designer of the WDSF logo!
Even if the winners were declared by 8 p.m. already, it was a long day for all involved in the first ever U-21 World Latin. The nine Ajudicators had their work cut out too: 91 couples danced in the inaugural edition from 10:30 a.m.
The number of entries in this open world championship signals that introducing the age group does meet the demand in many WDSF member countries. Young athletes benefit from a transitionary competition period that allows them to adapt more gradually to dancing in Adult.
As in many other sports, there seems to be very little difference in terms of quality between U-21 and the "unlimited" age division. Maybe the future will see dancers making it to the absolute elite at an earlier age thanks to U-21!
Helmut Roland interviews the first ever U-21 World Latin Champions, Joel Lopez - Kristina Bespechnova, ESP, after the awards presentation. ¡Enhorabuena Campeones!
