Words of Congratulation and Encouragement 30/06/2011

International Olympic Committee In a personal letter to WDSF President Carlos Freitag, the President of the International Olympic Committee congratulates DanceSport's world governing body on the decision taken at the 2011 General Meeting in Luxembourg.

Dr Jacques Rogge not only commends WDSF for the change of the federation's name but also makes the most positive assessments of the creation of the WDSF Professional Division and the efforts to introduce the new Judging System for DanceSport. The IOC President wrote:

I would like to congratulate you on the latest decisions taken by your General Assembly. We have duly taken note of the change of name and visual identity of your federation. This is a very important symbolic change; it will certainly allow a number of new developments to take place.
